It is the time of spring planting to open up wasteland and worship ancestors during the Qingming Festival. In addition, the drought in central China has greatly increased the risk of wildfires. In order to prevent fires caused by similar situations from causing loss and damage to the projects and personal safety of our customers, this risk warning letter is specially sent to attract attention. The recent period is the high incidence of mountain fires. For photovoltaic power stations located in barren mountains, the surrounding villagers accidentally trigger mountain fires during festivals by sweeping tombs and worshiping ancestors, which will lead to huge losses.
 
Case number one
 
At around 9:00 a.m. on February 22, 2018, a fire broke out in a storage yard where photovoltaic panels were stored in a photovoltaic project under construction. All 520 boxes of photovoltaic panels (27 pieces per box, 260W per piece) stored were burned down, resulting in a loss of 9 million yuan. The cause of the accident was that someone used branches and sunflower poles to burn dead tree roots 110 meters to the west of the stockyard to ignite weeds, and the fire spread from west to east, causing a fire.
 
Case 2
 
At 12:00 on March 26, 2019, a fire broke out in a photovoltaic power station in Xingtai County, Hebei Province, causing 13 arrayed photovoltaic cables and components to be burned. The damage is expected to be severe. The accident was triggered by a mountain fire caused by nearby villagers going to their graves to worship their ancestors, which spread to the photovoltaic power station, causing a fire.

Suggestions for Mountain Fire Disaster Prevention and Loss Prevention of Photovoltaic Power Stations
 
(1) Formulate and improve the safety inspection system for power stations during holidays, strengthen the inspection and monitoring of the site where the photovoltaic modules are located, ensure that the power generation equipment and facilities are not damaged by external attacks, and prevent the occurrence of arson;
 
(2) Formulate strict safety management system and fire prevention system (hot approval);
 
(3) Equipped with full-time security and fire-fighting personnel to conduct regular inspections on the site;
 
(4) Strengthen management, regularly remove or trim weeds and green vegetation in and around the power generation area, and raise awareness of fire prevention. Although the fire spread of photovoltaic modules is poor, the surrounding weeds, bushes and other flammable materials will burn the nearby photovoltaic modules in a large area, causing heavy losses;
 
(5) It is recommended to eradicate the surface vegetation around the photovoltaic array during the dry grass period to form a fire isolation zone of about 20m to prevent external fire sources from spreading to the module area through the surface vegetation;
 
(6) Equipped with sufficient fire-fighting equipment and evenly distributed in the power station for access in case of fire;
 
(7) Establish and improve various rules and regulations for equipment, cable operation, maintenance, inspection, fire prevention, and alarm to prevent the occurrence of fire in the power production system;
 
(8) During the operation of the photovoltaic system, monitor whether the components of the photovoltaic module are in good operation by measuring the working temperature, and regularly check and maintain and replace the components to prevent fires caused by excessive temperature;
 
(9) Formulate preventive measures such as heat dissipation and dust prevention for strings and equipment. When selecting key equipment, it is necessary to choose equipment that is resistant to harsh environments such as sandstorm resistance, salt spray resistance, and high temperature and humidity resistance.
